Hi. We are the Art of Hosting Vietnam organizing team. We are a group of people that have sensed that something is “not quite right” with how many of us are currently working together in companies and organizations.
Have you ever been in workplace situations where you are...
The thing is, we believe that work does not have to be that bad. We think that work can actually be a much more wonderful place if collaboration and trust would be at the center of everything. And we know that there are practices that invite and support collaboration, and that these practices can be learned.
This is why we are organizing the Art of Hosting Training on 2nd of November to explore the following question :
Have you ever been in workplace situations where you are...
- In meetings that drags on without a clear conclusion.
- Being part of a team but felt like you were always working alone.
- Taking on a project that just felt boring and uninspiring.
- Dreading having to interact with colleagues and clients.
How can we create collaborative working cultures
where people and business can thrive?
The modern workplaceThe skills of collaboration are essential in our complex modern world. Everyone is talking about the need for collaboration and innovation but few organizations seem to know how to practice it. These needs are particularly acute in cultures, such as Vietnamese, that are rapidly modernizing and struggling to discover how to embrace the modern world without losing traditional values. In such times and situations, there is a need for turning to one another in conversation and learning to create the conditions for new answers to emerge. |
In Southeast Asia, there is a hunger among the new generation of emerging leaders to learn the practices for creating a different future.
In 2016, over 40 people participated in the first Art of Hosting training held in Vietnam focused on the calling question of ‘how can we create engaging and supportive learning environments?’.
Enthusiasm was high following the training and within a few months there was a recognition of how difficult it is to sustain change in existing systems and to invite in new, participatory practices. This led to the calling of this second Art of Hosting training in Vietnam.

So where to start? How to create a workplace where:
- Everyone learns, contributes and collaborates so that the company can thrives as a whole?
- The culture supports collaboration and empowers everyone to performs at their best?
- Everyone, regardless of position, feels a sense of ownership and dedication towards the organization and its purpose?
A 3-day training on participatory leadership methods
This 3-day residential training offers models, methodologies, and practices that invite to lead and engage talents in organizations.
Participants have the opportunity to experience and practice “hosting” various participatory processes and methodologies. These methodologies are specifically designed for working with "complex challenges", where the solution is not obvious and the path forward is unknown, even to the leader. They help access the collective intelligence of any group, to find new solutions through creative collaboration. The invitation question will be explored during the training as the focus of each hosted conversation.
In this learning journey, you will learn how to practice Art of Hosting methodologies and to “host” various participatory processes yourself. You will discover where and how to apply the methodologies to:
If you have made this far reading, we really appreciate your interest. However, there is only so much words can convey and Art of Hosting is not something that can be simply explained with a few elegant words. It is in fact, much like life itself, ever-changing and evolving. As a Chinese proverb goes:
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I will learn."
This is our invitation for you to be involved.

Scholarship and Donation
Art of Hosting network is a world-wide community of active practitioners with strong commitment toward generosity and extending help to those who need it the most. This learning journey is made possible by a Team of volunteers who wishes to make this training accessible to as many people as possible. This work is grounded in the practice of "asking for what you need and offering what you can". Please, if you need assistance, ask. If you are able to contribute your support in any way, please offer. Together, we are confident that we will become a community that learns to practice collaboration, even in how we deal with money.
Our hope is to grow a community in Vietnam, that will be able to deliver future Art of Hosting training without having to invite hosts from abroad - and thus, making the price lower for future training. We are aware of the high barrier that this can be for some people wanting to join as individuals and we wish to let the door open for them. We invite you to reach out to us if this is your case, and we will do our best to make it happen. Please visit our Scholarship & Donation page below to learn more
