Story of Day 4
by Tam Tran Thanh
 (Apprentice&Organizer)
When the last bus left Bai Dinh Hotel, I felt the silence, remembering the first day the organizing team had come here. It was also quiet. 4 days have passed, very fast, we met here and we said farewell.

This morning, I woke up earlier than usual, because today I was the day host. A group of friends gathered to go to the ancient temple, I feel jealous of them. Still reminded myself that I was on the duty today.

At 7:30 am, hosting team check-in together. We reviewed the day's agenda, recalled the participants' feedback, adjusted the program, asked for support, and offered help to each other. Today, with a deep breath in, I decided to invite all the tense, fear, anxiety and feel them, listened to my heart, and allowed myself to express my true feeling and thinking.

At 8:30, everyone gathered in the training hall for the last day of the program and today was also November 20, the teacher's day.

As a day host I would need to make sure everything is going smoothly, hold the space for all of us, observe and see what emerges, bring attention to the hosts, remind them of the time spent… It was not really easy as I was still curious about what is shared in the small circles. I heard the bell ringing, over there, one group started. I smiled :). We were in the circle way practice nicely. I saw the talking piece passing around and we started the sharing, I saw some tears as well. We were speaking from our hearts. I feel proud to witness this moment.
This morning saw tender moments in the small circles as the host and the guardian from each circle had taken the time and energy to set a spacious container for deep reflection to flow. They took the time to build the centerpiece with beauty and intention to invite reflection. Music was flowing around for some, reflective silence for others, the resonant “ding” from the bell coming from different corners. The Circle Way practice invites deep listening from the place of slowing down while speaking from the wholeness of body-mind-spirit. We saw both laughter and tears as participants opened up about what “power learning moment” they had for the past 3 days - gratitude, frustration, relief, connection…

People reconvened in a big circle and had a pause together as the question being asked aloud: “For the past few days, how has the circle experience nurtured you and challenged you?”

After check-in, we were moving to the Designing For Wiser Action session. We passed the talking piece around and the callers shared what their projects or piece of work are briefly and what they are calling for the support from the others. Then we were splitted into a small group of 4-5 people to ask the questions, share our insights, experiences and lessons learnt. I've learnt a lot from the wisdom council.

After that, we had the 2nd round which we played as
bumble bees and changed to other projects. We were invited to 'gossip' about the project behind the caller's back (without her/his interruption) and from there the amazing things happened. The project was built and designed perfectly and beautifully on the first ground, after the 'gossip' ground, it appears that it had many issues and challenges which was inviting the caller to reconsider his/her ideas of design. This is the first time I experienced the beauty of gossiping :D. The challenges were really essential and helpful. Some callers shared that they really appreciated this experience.

In the afternoon, after lunch, we were back to the training hall to share some experiences and learning from the Design for Wiser Action, then we were invited to have gallery walk to see all the harvests, lessons during 4 days and reflect these questions:

What has touched me?
What will I carry forward?
What am I grateful for myself and others?

I'm really touched by the caring and support of the organizing team, warm hugs and touch from them. I see the beauty of the chaordic path which from here I can remind myself of the fourfold practice. I'm seen by the others and so grateful for this. I let go of my own judgment and carry forward the acceptance and the friendship which has just bloomed, a great memory of 4 days of practice :)

And it's not goodbye but until we meet again :)
